Fruit of spirit and holy spirit (3/4)

  • And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who are peacemakers.
  • Follow my statutes and keep my commandments and obey them. Then I will give you rain in its proper season and the yield of the land shall increase and the trees of the field shall bear their fruit.
  • After John had baptized all the people, and while Jesus was engaged in prayer after also having been baptized, heaven opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased.”
  • This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God:
    every spirit that acknowledges
that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh
    is from God,
and every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus
    is not from God.
This is the spirit of the Antichrist,
about whose coming you have been told,
and that it is already in the world.
  • However, God has revealed these things to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit explores everything, even the depths of God.
  • The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
  • And the one who searches hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.
  • And just as no human being comprehends any person’s innermost being except the person’s own spirit within him, so also no one comprehends what pertains to God except the Spirit of God.
  • Those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
  • The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word, but worldly cares and the lure of riches choke the word and it bears no fruit.
  • For you did not receive a spirit of slavery leading to fear; rather, you received the Spirit of adoption, enabling us to cry out, “Abba! Father!”
  • For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, Jews as well as Greeks, slaves as well as free men, and we were all given the same Spirit to drink.
  • Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a resolute spirit within me.
  • The one who sows in his flesh will reap a harvest of corruption, but the one who sows in the Spirit will reap from the Spirit the reward of eternal life.
  • Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
  • And take the helmet of salvation as well as the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
  • Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from anything that can defile flesh or spirit, and thereby make our holiness perfect in the fear of God.
  • He who called you is holy. Therefore, be holy yourselves in all your conduct. For Scripture says, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
  • Do you not realize that you are God’s temple, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
  • The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
  • Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them. They will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.
  • In all of your prayers and entreaties, pray always in the Spirit. To that end, keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints.
  • At the time that discipline is received, it always seems painful rather than pleasant, but afterward it yields a harvest of peace and uprightness to those who have been trained by it.
  • Blessed are those who trust in the Lord
and whose hope is the Lord.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that spreads out its roots to the stream.
    When the heat comes, it does not fear;
    its leaves stay green.
It is not concerned in a year of drought,
and it never fails to bear fruit.
  • Make every possible effort to preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life,
but an undisciplined tongue crushes the spirit.

Bible verse of the day

For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so too do we believe that God will bring forth with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
