- The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? - I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.
- For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
- Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
- Behold, what I have seen to be good and fitting is to eat and drink and find enjoyment in all the toil with which one toils under the sun the few days of his life that God has given him, for this is his lot.
- And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”
- And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
- But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.
- Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
- To those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.
- I will never forget your precepts,
for by them you have given me life. - For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.
- For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.
- The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
- His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence.
- Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
- By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
- Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.
- But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
- Knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.
- One thing have I asked of the Lord,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to inquire in his temple. - I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.
- The Lord redeems the life of his servants;
none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned. - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
- Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life;
he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
