- And I will ask the Father,
and he will give you another Advocate
to be with you forever. - By this is my Father glorified,
that you bear much fruit
and become my disciples. - To anyone who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, as I myself overcame and sat with my Father on his throne.
- I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation to know him.
- This is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.’ - The father of a good man will rejoice;
he who begets a wise son will delight in him. - If you know me,
then you will know my Father also.
From now on you do know him.
You have seen him. - Blessed be the God,
and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in Christ
with every spiritual blessing in the heavens. - I give them eternal life,
and they will never perish.
No one will ever snatch them from my hand.
My Father who has given them to me
is greater than all,
and no one can snatch them
out of the Father’s hand.
I and the Father are one. - Jesus replied,
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father
except through me.” - Make every effort to present yourself before God as one who is worthy of his approval, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, but who imparts the word of truth without any alteration.
- You are from your father, the devil,
and you choose to carry out your father’s desires.
He was a murderer from the beginning,
and he does not abide by the truth,
for there is no truth in him.
When he lies,
he speaks in accord with his own nature,
for he is a liar
and the father of lies. - Fear not, little flock, for your Father has chosen to give you the kingdom.
- But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that the fact that you are fasting will not be obvious to others but only to your Father who is hidden. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.
- Yet, O Lord, you are our Father;
we are the clay and you are our potter;
all of us are the work of your hands. - Abba, Father, for you all things are possible. Take this cup from me. Yet not my will but yours be done.
- He cried out, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” And with these words he breathed his last.
- My son, do not ignore the Lord’s discipline
or refuse to accept his rebuke.
For the Lord disciplines those whom he loves,
just as a father chastises a beloved son. - Do not work for food that perishes
but for the food that endures for eternal life,
which the Son of Man will give you.
For it is on him
that God the Father has set his seal. - Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.
- For this reason
a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh. - For us there is
one God, the Father,
from whom all things are
and for whom we exist,
and one Lord, Jesus Christ,
through whom all things are
and through whom we exist. - Do you suppose that I cannot appeal to my Father for help and he will not immediately send me more than twelve legions of angels?
- You shall not kill. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness. Honor your father and your mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.
- See what love
the Father has bestowed on us,
enabling us to be called the children of God,
and that is what we are.
If the world does not recognize us,
that is because it did not know him.
