- Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who maintains covenant loyalty with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.
- For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
- If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy that person. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.
- The spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me;
he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed,
to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and release to the prisoners. - Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be a healing for your flesh
and a refreshment for your body. - For who is God except the Lord?
And who is a rock besides our God? - This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
- For who is God, but the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God? - Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable to you,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. - A cheerful heart is a good medicine,
but a downcast spirit dries up the bones. - No one, when tempted, should say, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil and he himself tempts no one.
- All this took place to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet:
“Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,”
which means, “God is with us.” - Keep his statutes and his commandments, which I am commanding you today for your own well-being and that of your descendants after you, so that you may long remain in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for all time.
- For nothing will be impossible with God.
- Cure the sick who are there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’
- I delight to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart. - For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.
- By faith he received power of procreation, even though he was too old—and Sarah herself was barren—because he considered him faithful who had promised.
- And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying,
“See, the home of God is among mortals.
He will dwell with them as their God;
they will be his peoples,
and God himself will be with them;
he will wipe every tear from their eyes.
Death will be no more;
mourning and crying and pain will be no more,
for the first things have passed away.” - But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
- Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
- No one has ever seen God. It is God the only Son, who is close to the Father's heart, who has made him known.
- You then, my child, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
- Better is a little that the righteous person has
than the abundance of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous. - This God—his way is perfect;
the promise of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all who take refuge in him.
To you, O God of my ancestors,
I give thanks and praise,
for you have given me wisdom and power,
and have now revealed to me what we asked of you,
for you have revealed to us what the king ordered.There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.
