- Each of us must please our neighbor for the good purpose of building up the neighbor.
- O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever. - But now, apart from law, the righteousness of God has been disclosed, and is attested by the law and the prophets, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction.
- I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” - Then you will understand righteousness and justice
and equity, every good path. - How very good and pleasant it is
when kindred live together in unity! - Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, for you are receiving the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
- A cheerful heart is a good medicine,
but a downcast spirit dries up the bones. - He who finds a wife finds a good thing,
and obtains favor from the Lord. - But test everything; hold fast to what is good; abstain from every form of evil.
- The Lord is good,
a stronghold in a day of trouble;
he protects those who take refuge in him. - The young lions suffer want and hunger,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. - Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.
- I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love.
- For he satisfies the thirsty,
and the hungry he fills with good things. - Surely there is no one on earth so righteous as to do good without ever sinning.
- For
“Those who desire life
and desire to see good days,
let them keep their tongues from evil
and their lips from speaking deceit;
let them turn away from evil and do good;
let them seek peace and pursue it.” - Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven.
- For this very reason, you must make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, and godliness with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love.
- Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to do it. - For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call on you. - How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of the messenger who announces peace,
who brings good news,
who announces salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” - Therefore let us go on toward perfection, leaving behind the basic teaching about Christ, and not laying again the foundation: repentance from dead works and faith toward God, instruction about baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
- Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner.”
- Stand therefore, and fasten the belt of truth around your waist, and put on the breastplate of righteousness. As shoes for your feet put on whatever will make you ready to proclaim the gospel of peace. With all of these, take the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
