Chinese (traditional)- The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife.
- God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
- Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted. - The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners. - But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.
- Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
- Who has done this and carried it through,
calling forth the generations from the beginning?
I, the Lord—with the first of them
and with the last—I am he. - These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
- The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free. - When anyone becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess in what way they have sinned.
- When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow.
- It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
- So that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.
- I delight greatly in the Lord;
my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. - For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
- Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
- There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
- And if we are careful to obey all this law before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness.
- And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
- Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
- Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.
- “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.
- The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them.
- Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.
Be sure to keep the commands of the Lord your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you.Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
