- Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Praise the Lord. - But he knows the way that I take;

My feet have closely followed his steps;
I have kept to his way without turning aside. - For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

“What no eye has seen,

and what no human mind has conceived”—
the things God has prepared for those who love him. - I love the Lord, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.
Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live. - Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
- The Lord has done it this very day;
let us rejoice today and be glad. - His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
- God is not human, that he should lie,
not a human being, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
Does he promise and not fulfill? - Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
- Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
- Fools find no pleasure in understanding
but delight in airing their own opinions. - Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but whoever hates correction is stupid. - He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

so far has he removed our transgressions from us. - For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
- This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit.
- And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

so that my ankles do not give way. - A person finds joy in giving an apt reply—
and how good is a timely word! - For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

- Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

- You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.

- Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,

- We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.
Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.
