- But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far off have been brought near through the blood of Christ.

- I tell you that on the day of judgment people will have to render an account for every careless word they utter.
- Go and learn what this text means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ I have come to call not the righteous but sinners.
- Be on your guard that you do not lose what we have worked to accomplish so that you will receive your reward in full.
- God is faithful, and it is by him that you have been called into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
- But I with hymns of praise
will offer sacrifice to you.
What I have vowed I will fulfill.
Salvation comes from the Lord. - However, to avoid the temptation to immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.
- I write these things to you
who believe in the name of the Son of God
so that you may know
that you have eternal life. - If you refuse to listen to me
and do not sincerely resolve
to give glory to my name,
says the Lord of hosts,
I will send a curse on you,
and I will turn your blessings into a curse.
Indeed, I have already done so
because you have not heeded my warning. - Just as the living Father sent me
and I have life because of the Father,
so whoever feeds upon me will live because of me. - However, whoever lives by the truth
comes to the light
so that it may be clearly seen
that his deeds have been done in God. - If you keep my commandments,
you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father’s commandments
and remain in his love. - If we claim that we have fellowship with him
while we continue to live in darkness,
we are lying and do not live in the truth. - O Lord, you have examined me
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I stand;
you perceive my thoughts from a distance. - In Christ
and through his blood
we have redemption
and the forgiveness of our sins.
In accord with the riches of his grace.
