| Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously. | Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. |
| And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for. | And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. |
| Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where he was tempted by the devil for forty days. | And he went to the place of the dead. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side. The rich man shouted, ‘Father Abraham, have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. | Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. | He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. |
| He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. | He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. |
| So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. | Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time. |
