Chinese (traditional)- A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
- By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.
- When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”
- Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.
- If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.
- You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, His testimonies, and His statutes which He has commanded you.
- Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people He has chosen as His own inheritance. - For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
- A fool vents all his feelings,
But a wise man holds them back. - Praise the Lord!
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
Who delights greatly in His commandments. - As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.
- Do not envy the oppressor,
And choose none of his ways;
For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord,
But His secret counsel is with the upright. - But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
- And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
“Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ ” - Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace;
When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive. - And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
- The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.
- And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
- Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
- A fool’s lips enter into contention,
And his mouth calls for blows. - For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.
- And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him:
THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. - That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love.
- God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
- But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
A man’s heart plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps.
