- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools are those who despise wisdom and instruction. - The face of the Lord is turned against those who do evil,
to erase all memory of them from the earth. - The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
- Many are the plans in a human mind,
but it is the purpose of the Lord that will prevail. - Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
- I then heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me!”
- The fear of the Lord implies hatred of evil;
I hate pride and arrogance,
evil ways and perverse speech. - The precepts of the Lord are right,
causing the heart to rejoice.
The commands of the Lord are clear,
giving light to the eyes. - The law of the Lord is perfect,
affording refreshment to the soul.
The decree of the Lord is worthy of trust,
imparting wisdom to the simple. - And whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
- May the favor of the Lord, our God, rest upon us.
And may the work of our hands prosper—
indeed, may the work of our hands prosper. - I will strengthen the house of Judah,
and I will save the house of Joseph.
I will bring them back
because I have taken pity on them,
and they will be
as though I had never cast them off;
for I am the Lord, their God,
and I will answer them. - You shall take heed to observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, and the decrees and statutes that he has given to you.
- You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain, for the Lord will not consider blameless those who take his name in vain.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
those who are guided by it will grow in understanding.
His praise will last forever. - For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer.
However, the face of the Lord
is set against those who do evil. - Return and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people: Thus says the Lord, the God of David, your father: I have heard, I have seen your tears. I will heal you today, and the day after tomorrow you will go up to the temple of the Lord.
- The Lord then said, “Very well. All that he has is in your power. However, you may not lay a hand upon him.” So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.
- You will not add to what I command you, nor will you take away from it, so that you might observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, that I am giving you.
- The crowds that preceded him and those that followed kept shouting:
“Hosanna to the Son of David!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
Hosanna in the highest!” - Therefore, my beloved brethren, stand firm and immovable, devoting yourselves completely to the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
- Seek the Lord,
all you humble of the land
who obey his commands.
Seek righteousness, seek humility;
then perhaps you may find shelter
on the day of the Lord’s anger. - On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
- The love of the Lord is never exhausted,
nor do his deeds of mercy ever come to an end.
They are renewed every morning;
his faithfulness never ceases. - Meanwhile, the Church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed peace, building up strength and living in the fear of the Lord. Encouraged by the Holy Spirit, the Church grew in numbers.
