- The Lord watches over the strangers;
he upholds the orphan and the widow,
but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. - The Lord loves those who hate evil;
he guards the lives of his faithful;
he rescues them from the hand of the wicked. - And keep the charge of the Lord your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, so that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn.
- He humbled you by letting you hunger, then by feeding you with manna, with which neither you nor your ancestors were acquainted, in order to make you understand that one does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
- If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in his sight, and give heed to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will not bring upon you any of the diseases that I brought upon the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.

- You may say to yourself, “How can we recognize a word that the Lord has not spoken?” If a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord but the thing does not take place or prove true, it is a word that the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; do not be frightened by it.
- For so the Lord has commanded us, saying,
‘I have set you to be a light for the Gentiles,
so that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’ - Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.
- You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,
will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.” - If any of you sin without knowing it, doing any of the things that by the Lord's commandments ought not to be done, you have incurred guilt, and are subject to punishment.
- But surely, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of my life. - For the Lord loves justice;
he will not forsake his faithful ones.
The righteous shall be kept safe forever,
but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. - For whoever finds me finds life
and obtains favor from the Lord. - Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord.
- The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to keep still.
- Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, says the Lord God, and not rather that they should turn from their ways and live?
- Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power.
- Better is a little that the righteous person has
than the abundance of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous. - Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.
- Seek the Lord and his strength;
seek his presence continually. - So now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? Only to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the Lord your God and his decrees that I am commanding you today, for your own well-being.
- Our steps are made firm by the Lord,
when he delights in our way.
