- By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
- O you who love the Lord, hate evil!
He preserves the lives of his saints;
he delivers them from the hand of the wicked. - For it is you who light my lamp;
the Lord my God lightens my darkness. - Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love,
for they have been from of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
according to your steadfast love remember me,
for the sake of your goodness, O Lord! - For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.
- Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord!
O Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my pleas for mercy! - Hatred stirs up strife,
but love covers all offenses. - Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.
- He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God? - For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
- As for you, O Lord, you will not restrain your mercy from me;
your steadfast love and your faithfulness will ever preserve me! - But you, O Lord, are a shield about me,
my glory, and the lifter of my head. - The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. - Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
- In you, O Lord, do I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me! - And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments and statutes of the Lord, which I am commanding you today for your good?
- Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
- But you, O Lord, reign forever;
your throne endures to all generations. - Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever! - He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord. - The Lord your God is in your midst,
a mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing. - Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
- Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.
- Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,
for in you I trust.
Make me know the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul. - Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
on those who hope in his steadfast love.
