| Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. | “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” |
| Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. | Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. |
| And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. | If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector. |
| But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. | But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. |
| Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. | Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. |
| For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. | If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. |
| If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. | Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. |
| Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. | But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. |
| It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him. | Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him. |
| What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? | What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? |
| For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. | For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. |
| Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. | Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. |
| And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. | And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. |
| And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great. | Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.” |
| If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. | If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. |

| Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? | Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” |
| By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. | By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. |
| No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. | No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. |
| He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known. | Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out. |
| And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. | Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. |
| For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour; If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever. | If you really change your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly, if you do not oppress the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow and do not shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not follow other gods to your own harm, then I will let you live in this place, in the land I gave your ancestors for ever and ever. |
