| The one thing I ask of the Lord— the thing I seek most— is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. | One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple. |
| Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit. | Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. |
| Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. | Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another. |
| Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. | Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. |
| In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. | In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. |
| I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. | Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. |
| Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. | Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. |
| Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?” | Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? |
| For the Lord delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory. | For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. |
| Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased. | Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. |
| For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. | For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. |
