- Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, and in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.
- Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus.
- Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.
- In God, I praise his word.
In God, I put my trust.
I will not be afraid.
What can flesh do to me? - If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.
- In Hades, he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far off, and Lazarus at his bosom. He cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue! For I am in anguish in this flame.’

Deliver me in your righteousness. - God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.
- No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us.
- Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stand on the path of sinners,
nor sit in the seat of scoffers. - I have taught you in the way of wisdom.
I have led you in straight paths. - For a day in your courts is better than a thousand.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God,
than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. - Preserve me, God, for I take refuge in you.
- But speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ.
- Pray like this:
‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
Let your Kingdom come.
Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’ - Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great:
God was revealed in the flesh,
justified in the spirit,
seen by angels,
preached among the nations,
believed on in the world,
and received up in glory. - Continue steadfastly in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving.
- God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
- For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them.
- If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
- Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him.
- But our God is in the heavens.
He does whatever he pleases. - For we all stumble in many things. Anyone who doesn’t stumble in word is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also.
- He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.”
