It (3/4)

  • The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
    The righteous runs into it and is safe.
  • Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.”
  • What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? Far from it! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?
  • Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
  • Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”
  • Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.
  • How much more valuable then is a person than a sheep! So then, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
  • This is what the Lord says:
    “Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths,
    Where the good way is, and walk in it;
    Then you will find a resting place for your souls.
    But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’”
  • And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
  • Therefore, I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted to you.
  • It does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
  • This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will achieve success.
  • But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
  • For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
  • But when they saw Him walking on the sea, they thought that it was a ghost, and they cried out; for they all saw Him and were terrified. But immediately He spoke with them and said to them, “Take courage; it is I, do not be afraid.”
  • Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”
  • For it is written:
    “As I live, says the Lord, to Me every knee will bow,
    And every tongue will give praise to God.”
  • Unless the Lord builds a house,
    They who build it labor in vain;
    Unless the Lord guards a city,
    The watchman stays awake in vain.
  • Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written: “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.
  • When you make a vow to God, do not be late in paying it; for He takes no delight in fools. Pay what you vow!
  • Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is narrow and the way is constricted that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
  • Wealth obtained from nothing dwindles,
    But one who gathers by labor increases it.
  • Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving.
  • For the customs of the peoples are futile;
    For it is wood cut from the forest,
    The work of the hands of a craftsman with a cutting tool.
    They decorate the idol with silver and gold;
    They fasten it with nails and hammers
    So that it will not totter.
    They are like a scarecrow in a cucumber field,
    And they cannot speak;
    They must be carried,
    Because they cannot walk!
    Do not fear them,
    For they can do no harm,
    Nor can they do any good.
  • But I strictly discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life, and have it abundantly.
