Bible Verses about 'Justice'
- Rather, let justice flow like a river,
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. - And learn to do good.
Pursue justice and rescue the oppressed;
listen to the plea of the orphan
and defend the widow. - The Lord loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is filled with his kindness. - Grant justice to the weak and the orphan;
defend the rights of the lowly and the poor. - For he guards the paths of justice
and keeps watch over the way of his faithful ones. - Then you will understand equity and justice
as well as righteousness—every good path. - But the Almighty we cannot find;
he is unequaled in power and judgment,
and in his righteousness he will not violate justice. - To do what is right and just
is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. - The future bodes well for him
who is generous in helping those in need
and who conducts his affairs with justice. - But even so the Lord is waiting to be gracious to you,
and he will rise up to grant you his compassion.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
blessed are all those who wait for him. - Commit your way to the Lord;
place your trust in him, and he will act.
He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause, like the noonday. - Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice,
for they will have their fill. - For the Lord loves the just,
and he will not forsake his faithful ones.
Those who follow evil paths will be destroyed,
and the children of the wicked will be cut off. - Blessed are those who are persecuted in the cause of justice,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - Now let the fear of the Lord be upon you. Be careful in your judgments, for the Lord, our God, will not tolerate the perversion of justice, or partiality, or the taking of bribes.
- Speak out and pronounce righteous judgments;
defend the rights of the wretched and the poor. - But for you who fear my name
the sun of justice will arise
with its healing rays.
You will emerge leaping
like calves released from the stall. - Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore, he instructs sinners in his ways.

and teaches them the path to follow. - The Lord has told you, O man, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
Only this: to do what is right, to show mercy,
and to walk humbly with your God. - Therefore, now I, Nebuchadnezzar,
praise and exalt and glorify
the King of heaven.

and all of his ways are just.

all those who follow the path of pride. - My soul longs for you throughout the night,
and my spirit within me seeks your presence.

the inhabitants of the world learn to practice justice. - He is a rock, his deeds are perfect,
and all of his ways are just.
He is a God of truth who does no wrong;
he is just and upright. - I rejoice in the Lord with all my heart;
my soul exults in my God.

and wrapped me in a robe of saving justice,
like a bridegroom adorned with a garland
or a bride bedecked with her jewels. - Thus says the Lord of hosts: Render fair judgments, and show kindness and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow, the orphan, the alien, or the poor. Do not plot evil in your heart against one another.
- It is better to have little and be righteous
than to acquire great riches with injustice. - However, if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you are upright in your dealings with your neighbor; if you do not oppress the alien, the orphan, and the widow; if you do not shed innocent blood in this place; and if you do not follow other gods and thereby cause your own destruction, then I will allow you to live in this place, in the land that I gave as a permanent gift to your fathers long ago.
- Speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves,
and defend the rights of the destitute. - Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked. A person will reap only what he sows.
- Seek the Lord,
all you humble of the land
who obey his commands.
Seek righteousness, seek humility;
then perhaps you may find shelter
on the day of the Lord’s anger. - However, if the wicked renounce all of the sins that they have committed and keep all my statutes and do what is right and just, they shall surely live; they shall not die.
- But from everlasting to everlasting
the kindness of the Lord is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children’s children,
with those who keep his covenant
and diligently observe his commandments.
