- Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee. Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.
- But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
- Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
- Order my steps in thy word:
and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. - A talebearer revealeth secrets:
but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter. - I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye. - Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
- Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
- Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
- Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.
- And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.
- If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
- For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
- For the Lord loveth judgment,
and forsaketh not his saints;
they are preserved for ever:
but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. - Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
- Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
- And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
- Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
- When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
- For thou wilt light my candle:
the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. - And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
- Ponder the path of thy feet,
and let all thy ways be established. - Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous.
- He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul:
he that keepeth understanding shall find good. - Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.
