- But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
- In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
- Who hath wrought and done it,
calling the generations from the beginning?
I the Lord, the first,
and with the last; I am he. - And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
- And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
- How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
- For I know that my redeemer liveth,
and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. - For his anger endureth but a moment;
in his favour is life:
weeping may endure for a night,
but joy cometh in the morning. - For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
- And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
- The wicked worketh a deceitful work:
but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward. - Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
- I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live:
I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. - And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
- Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain:
but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. - And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
- The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
a good understanding have all they that do his commandments:
his praise endureth for ever. - Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
- Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high,
and the wilderness be a fruitful field,
and the fruitful field be counted for a forest. - For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
- Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
- While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
