- Pray, then, in this way:
‘Our Father, who is in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.’ - So then, let’s not sleep as others do, but let’s be alert and sober.
- For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly practice justice between a person and his neighbor, if you do not oppress the stranger, the orphan, or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, nor follow other gods to your own ruin, then I will let you live in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever.
- My son, pay attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings.
They are not to escape from your sight;
Keep them in the midst of your heart. - All that you do must be done in love.
- Let love of the brothers and sisters continue. Do not neglect hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.
- Now then, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; be careful about what you do, for the Lord our God will have no part in injustice or partiality, or in the taking of a bribe.
- If we live by the Spirit, let’s follow the Spirit as well.
- For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
- But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
- Is this not the fast that I choose:
To release the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the ropes of the yoke,
And to let the oppressed go free,
And break every yoke? - When you set your eyes on it, it is gone.
For wealth certainly makes itself wings
Like an eagle that flies toward the heavens. - Watch the path of your feet,
And all your ways will be established. - And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.
- Little children, let’s not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.
- And He humbled you and let you go hungry, and fed you with the manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, in order to make you understand that man shall not live on bread alone, but man shall live on everything that comes out of the mouth of the Lord.
- And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
- Teach me Your way, Lord;
I will walk in Your truth;
Unite my heart to fear Your name. - Repent and turn away from all your offenses, so that wrongdoing does not become a stumbling block to you.
- And He said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
- Make me know Your ways, Lord;
Teach me Your paths. - My mouth is filled with Your praise
And with Your glory all day long. - For,
“The one who desires life, to love and see good days,
Must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.
He must turn away from evil and do good;
He must seek peace and pursue it.” - Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be prolonged on the land which the Lord your God gives you.
- The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
