Life after death (2/4)

  • For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
  • That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.
  • He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
  • But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
  • And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
  • For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.
  • For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
  • For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
  • Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
  • And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
  • The heavens declare the glory of God;
    and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
    Day unto day uttereth speech,
    and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
  • For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
  • To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life.
  • In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.
  • Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for ever.
  • Set me as a seal upon thine heart,
    as a seal upon thine arm:
    for love is strong as death;
    jealousy is cruel as the grave:
    the coals thereof are coals of fire,
    which hath a most vehement flame.
  • Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.
  • He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
  • And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring.
  • Yea, though I walk
    through the valley of the shadow of death,
    I will fear no evil:
    for thou art with me;
    thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
  • Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
  • And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
  • For whoso findeth me findeth life,
    and shall obtain favour of the Lord.
  • And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
