Man’s (4/4)

  • What is man, that thou art mindful of him?
and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
  • For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
  • For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
  • And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
  • His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
  • Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
  • For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
  • Who will render to every man according to his deeds.
  • Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.
  • Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
  • One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
  • If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
  • Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
  • Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
  • For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
  • The Lord is on my side; I will not fear:
what can man do unto me?
  • It is better to trust in the Lord
than to put confidence in man.
  • For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
  • What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?
  • A fool's wrath is presently known:
but a prudent man covereth shame.
  • I, even I, am he that comforteth you:
who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die,
and of the son of man which shall be made as grass.
  • A froward man soweth strife:
and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
  • Iron sharpeneth iron;
so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
  • For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
  • And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
