Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. | Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. |
He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. | He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. |

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. | For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. |
Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. | Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. |
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. | For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. |
Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. | For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. |
Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. | And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. |

Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” | And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. |
He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. | And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live. |
Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! | What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? |
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. | There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. |
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. | Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. |
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” | And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. |
While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. | And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. |
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. | This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. |
Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. | Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. |
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. | The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. |
Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many. | Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many. |
A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. | A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. |
The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him. | The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. |
The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all. | Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. |
