- Also to you, Lord, belongs loving kindness,
for you reward every man according to his work. - He has shown you, O man, what is good.
What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly,
to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? - Don’t let kindness and truth forsake you.
Bind them around your neck.
Write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor,
and good understanding in the sight of God and man. - Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him.
Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way,
because of the man who makes wicked plots happen. - With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor,
but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge. - Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing,
and obtains favor of Yahweh. - Yahweh God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand, and also take of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever—” Therefore Yahweh God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.
- Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction. He opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God.
- But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
- If a man prevails against one who is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
- Or can one walk on hot coals,
and his feet not be scorched? - Don’t envy the man of violence.
Choose none of his ways.
For the perverse is an abomination to Yahweh,
but his friendship is with the upright. - “They shall be mine,” says Yahweh of Armies, “my own possession in the day that I make. I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.”
- Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man will see the Lord.
- Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, to repay to each man according to his work.
- This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.
- Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
- But as it is written,
“Things which an eye didn’t see, and an ear didn’t hear,
which didn’t enter into the heart of man,
these God has prepared for those who love him.” - Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.
- Therefore you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judge. For in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who judge practice the same things.
- Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.
- Let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts.
Let him return to Yahweh, and he will have mercy on him,
to our God, for he will freely pardon. - Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin that a man does is outside the body,” but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
- A man’s heart plans his course,
but Yahweh directs his steps. - A fool shows his annoyance the same day,
but one who overlooks an insult is prudent.
A fool despises his father’s correction,
but he who heeds reproof shows prudence.
