- And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”
- For the Lord your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.
- A little that a righteous man has
Is better than the riches of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
But the Lord upholds the righteous. - Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
- Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
- But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.
- The Lord is on my side;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me? - For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
- As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
- It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in man. - A fool vents all his feelings,
But a wise man holds them back. - And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
- A fool’s wrath is known at once,
But a prudent man covers shame. - I, even I, am He who comforts you.
Who are you that you should be afraid
Of a man who will die,
And of the son of a man who will be made like grass? - For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.
- What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before?
- For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
- God is not a man, that He should lie,
Nor a son of man, that He should repent.
Has He said, and will He not do?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? - Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
- Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.
- As iron sharpens iron,
So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. - But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
- How can a young man cleanse his way?
By taking heed according to Your word. - Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! - The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,
And He delights in his way.
A perverse man sows strife,
And a whisperer separates the best of friends.With all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love.
