Mayest (2/3)

  • Teach me to do your will,
    for you are my God.
May your gracious Spirit lead me forward
    on a firm footing.
  • But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!
  • May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
    be pleasing to you,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
  • Now may the God of peace—
who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus,
the great Shepherd of the sheep,
and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood—
may he equip you with all you need
    for doing his will.
    May he produce in you,
through the power of Jesus Christ,
every good thing that is pleasing to him.
All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.
  • And may the Lord our God show us his approval
    and make our efforts successful.
    Yes, make our efforts successful!
  • I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.
  • On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!”
  • May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
  • Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’
  • Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.
  • And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows.
  • For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime!
Weeping may last through the night,
but joy comes with the morning.
  • Do what is good and run from evil
    so that you may live!
Then the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies will be your helper,
    just as you have claimed.
  • Bring your confessions, and return to the Lord.
    Say to him,
“Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us,
so that we may offer you our praises.”
  • May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus.
  • May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.
  • I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.
  • I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh.
  • “All right, you may test him,” the Lord said to Satan. “Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left the Lord’s presence.
  • Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.
  • “For the mountains may move
    and the hills disappear,
but even then my faithful love for you will remain.
My covenant of blessing will never be broken,”
says the Lord, who has mercy on you.
  • Let the wicked change their ways
and banish the very thought of doing wrong.
Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them.
Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.
  • I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.
  • As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died.
  • Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen.”

You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things.

Bible verse of the day

But in my distress I cried out to the Lord;
yes, I prayed to my God for help.
He heard me from his sanctuary;
my cry to him reached his ears.
