- When I said, “My foot is slipping,”
your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. - I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me;
I was found by those who did not seek me.
To a nation that did not call on my name,
I said, ‘Here am I, here am I.’ - The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners. - Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.
- “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”
- Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.”
- Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
- I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands. - I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?
- But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high. - Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.
- Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
- You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand. - Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
- In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety. - Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
- I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
- Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
- I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors:
You have given me wisdom and power,
you have made known to me what we asked of you,
you have made known to us the dream of the king. - And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’
- Direct my footsteps according to your word;
let no sin rule over me. - ‘Return to me,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the Lord Almighty.
- In God, whose word I praise—
in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me? - Jesus said, “I am with you for only a short time, and then I am going to the one who sent me.”
- Do not make any gods to be alongside me; do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold.
Save me, Lord,
from lying lips
and from deceitful tongues.You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.Next verse!With image
