But God is my helper. The Lord keeps me alive! | Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me. |
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” | “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. |
I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! | I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. |
Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are faithful and righteous. | Lord, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy; in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief. |
I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” | I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” |
O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. So Jesus told them, “My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me.” | Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.” |
When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. | When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy. |
My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life. | Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many. |
“Don’t cling to me,” Jesus said, “for I haven’t yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” | Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” |
I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain. | I spread out my hands to you; I thirst for you like a parched land. |
For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke. | I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue. |
My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying. | My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity. |
As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me. | But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me. |
I said to the Lord, “You are my Master! Every good thing I have comes from you.” | I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.” |
My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart. | My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart. |
My future is in your hands. Rescue me from those who hunt me down relentlessly. | My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me. |
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. | Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” |
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live. I will praise my God to my last breath! | I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. |
