On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.” | But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. |
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. | For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. |

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. | Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. |

Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need. | Honour widows that are widows indeed. |
The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. | The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. |
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. | But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. |
I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. | I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. |
All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. | But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. |
As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and as his disciples walked along, they began to pick some heads of grain. The Pharisees said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?” He answered, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need? In the days of Abiathar the high priest, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions.” Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.” | And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. |
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. | Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. |

Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice. | A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. |
I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint. | For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul. |
Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. | Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. |
I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. | For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. |
