- Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.

- Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
- Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
- Hast thou not known?
hast thou not heard,
that the everlasting God, the Lord,
the Creator of the ends of the earth,
fainteth not, neither is weary?
there is no searching of his understanding. - And I will walk at liberty:
for I seek thy precepts. - Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
- This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
- And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
- A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth:
and a word spoken in due season, how good is it! - Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
- Thou wilt shew me the path of life:
in thy presence is fulness of joy;
at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
