| But you may wonder, ‘How will we know whether or not a prophecy is from the Lord?’ If the prophet speaks in the Lord’s name but his prediction does not happen or come true, you will know that the Lord did not give that message. That prophet has spoken without my authority and need not be feared. | You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed. |

| Arise, O Lord! Punish the wicked, O God! Do not ignore the helpless! | Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless. |
| But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. | But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. |
| Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. | Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. |
| I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent. | I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. |
| So Jesus told them, “My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me.” | Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.” |
