You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God. - And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!
- When a crime is not punished quickly, people feel it is safe to do wrong.
- Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.
- He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.
- Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.
- Do not withhold good from those who deserve it
when it’s in your power to help them. - For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.
- This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
- Eloquent words are not fitting for a fool;
even less are lies fitting for a ruler. - And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.
- Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.
- Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”
- Though a mighty army surrounds me,
my heart will not be afraid.
Even if I am attacked,
I will remain confident. - For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.
- The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
