- I know the Lord is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. - Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.
- So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.

- Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.
- For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.
- But I say, do not make any vows! Do not say, ‘By heaven!’ because heaven is God’s throne. And do not say, ‘By the earth!’ because the earth is his footstool. And do not say, ‘By Jerusalem!’ for Jerusalem is the city of the great King.
- But consider the joy of those corrected by God!
Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin. - Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.
- The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit.
You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God. - This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
- And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!
- Do not withhold good from those who deserve it
when it’s in your power to help them. - Eloquent words are not fitting for a fool;
even less are lies fitting for a ruler. - When a crime is not punished quickly, people feel it is safe to do wrong.
- He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.
- I will hurry, without delay,
to obey your commands. - For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.
- The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
- Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.
- Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”
- Though a mighty army surrounds me,
my heart will not be afraid.
Even if I am attacked,
I will remain confident.
