| While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. | As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. | Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? | Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? |
| And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth. | And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. |
| And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us. | And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. |
| A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. | A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. |
