  • The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.
  • Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
  • I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?
  • But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
    though you are small among the clans of Judah,
    out of you will come for me
    one who will be ruler over Israel,
    whose origins are from of old,
    from ancient times.
  • For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
  • Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
  • The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
  • You make known to me the path of life;
    you will fill me with joy in your presence,
    with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
  • What is mankind that you are mindful of them,
    human beings that you care for them?
  • My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ.
  • Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
  • So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.

    I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread.
  • You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
  • Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
    who walk according to the law of the Lord.
  • May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
  • You are altogether beautiful, my darling;
    there is no flaw in you.
  • For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
  • For I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance.
  • ‘Return to me,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the Lord Almighty.
  • And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
  • Lord, save us!
    Lord, grant us success!
    Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
    From the house of the Lord we bless you.
