- A prudent person sees evil and hides himself;
But the naive proceed, and pay the penalty. - Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity.
- Therefore know today, and take it to your heart, that the Lord, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other.
- One who is on the path of life follows instruction,
But one who ignores a rebuke goes astray. - Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground. - Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming.
- Pray, then, in this way:
‘Our Father, who is in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.’ - But I tell you that for every careless word that people speak, they will give an account of it on the day of judgment.
- Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to set their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.
- And Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road.
- “For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake,
But My favor will not be removed from you,
Nor will My covenant of peace be shaken,”
Says the Lord who has compassion on you. - Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight. - And on that day you will say,
“Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name.
Make known His deeds among the peoples;
Make them remember that His name is exalted.” - Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
- Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
- So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone.
- And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
- The Lord God is my strength,
And He has made my feet like deer’s feet,
And has me walk on my high places. - So he was there with the Lord for forty days and forty nights; he did not eat bread or drink water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
- Riches do not benefit on the day of wrath,
But righteousness rescues from death. - Wait for the Lord;
Be strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the Lord. - But He answered and said, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes out of the mouth of God.’ ”
- And the Lord will be King over all the earth; on that day the Lord will be the only one, and His name the only one.
- Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having strapped on your feet the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
- A highway will be there, a roadway,
And it will be called the Highway of Holiness.
The unclean will not travel on it,
But it will be for the one who walks that way,
And fools will not wander on it.
