| God created mankind in his image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them. | So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. |

| What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his very life? | For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? |
| The one who sows in his flesh will reap a harvest of corruption, but the one who sows in the Spirit will reap from the Spirit the reward of eternal life. | For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. |
| But who am I, and what are your people, that we should be able to do this? For all things come from You, And of Your own we have given You. |
| It is the will of God that you should lead a life of sanctity. You must refrain from sexual immorality. Each of you must learn to acquire a wife from pure and honorable motives, not to gratify passion like the Gentiles who do not know God. | For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God. |

| The wealth of a rich man is his stronghold; he regards it as a high wall that cannot be scaled. | The rich man’s wealth is his strong city, And like a high wall in his own esteem. |
| What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his very life? Or what can he give in exchange for his life? | For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? |
