When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it, for God has no pleasure in fools. Fulfill the vow you have made.
For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.That is why you also pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, and they devote themselves to this service.

We saw the rising of his star, and we have come to pay him homage.”
See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.Make sure that no one pays back evil for evil. Rather, always aim to achieve what is best for each other and for everyone.

Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.Do not repay evil with evil or abuse with abuse. On the contrary, repay with a blessing. This is what you were called to do, so that you might inherit a blessing.
He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he.The one who pays heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.Likewise, you who are husbands must show consideration for your wives in your life together. Treat your wife with respect, for even though she is the weaker partner, she is also an equal heir of God’s gift of life. Thus, your prayers will not be hindered in any way.
