- Your kindness is a greater joy than life itself;
thus my lips will speak your praise.
I will bless you all my life;
with uplifted hands I will call on your name. - But according to Scripture all things have been confined under sin, so that through faith in Jesus Christ what was promised might be given to those who believe.
- A husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise a wife should fulfill her conjugal obligations to her husband. For a wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise, a husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
- For the carved images of the nations are powerless;
they are nothing more than wood cut from a forest,
fashioned with a knife by craftsmen
and embellished with silver and gold.
Then they are fastened with hammers and nails
to prevent them from toppling.
Like scarecrows in a cucumber field
they are unable to speak,
and they must be carried from place to place
since they cannot walk.
Do not be afraid of them,
for they can do no harm,
nor do they have any power to do good. - Therefore, rid yourselves of everything sordid and of every wicked excess, and welcome in all humility the word that is implanted in you and is able to save your souls.
- The birth of Jesus Christ occurred in this way. When his mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they came to live together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
- How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from acts that lead to death so that we may worship the living God.
- However, you, dear friends, must build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in the love of God as you await our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy, who will grant you eternal life.
- May the God of peace—who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant— make you perfect in every respect so that you may do his will. And may he enable us to achieve what is pleasing to him through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
- For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.
- Let everyone submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which derives from God, and whatever authorities exist have been instituted by God.

- I love you, O Lord, my strength,
O Lord, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer.
My God is my rock in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation,
my stronghold. - For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall also be united with him in his resurrection. We know that our old self was crucified with him, so that our sinful body might be destroyed and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.
- Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts:
he is the King of glory. Selah - And take the helmet of salvation as well as the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. - Those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
- For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- By his own choice he gave us birth through the way of truth so that we may be a kind of firstfruits of all his creation.
- The tongue of the just man is like pure silver;
the heart of the wicked is without worth. - The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
- I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation to know him.
- For he guards the paths of justice
and keeps watch over the way of his faithful ones.
