- And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
- Though an army may encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear;
Though war may rise against me,
In this I will be confident. - Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed. For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.
- He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’

Do not forget the humble. - Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death, and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.
- Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you;
And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
Blessed are all those who wait for Him. - Therefore, having obtained help from God, to this day I stand, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said would come— that the Christ would suffer, that He would be the first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles.

The Sun of Righteousness shall arise
With healing in His wings;
And you shall go out
And grow fat like stall-fed calves. - Hatred stirs up strife,
But love covers all sins. - He heals the brokenhearted
And binds up their wounds. - For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up. - And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
- If I say, “My foot slips,”
Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up. - And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven.
- A soft answer turns away wrath,
But a harsh word stirs up anger. - A man’s pride will bring him low,
But the humble in spirit will retain honor. - So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
- Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
- Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”
- Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
- So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.
- The vine has dried up,
And the fig tree has withered;
The pomegranate tree,
The palm tree also,
And the apple tree—
All the trees of the field are withered;
Surely joy has withered away from the sons of men.
