| What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.” | What then should we say? That the Law is sinful? Absolutely not! Yet if it had not been for the Law, I would not have known what sin was. I would not have known what covet is if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.” |

| If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them, then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. | Follow my statutes and keep my commandments and obey them. Then I will give you rain in its proper season and the yield of the land shall increase and the trees of the field shall bear their fruit. |
| I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. | I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise will be continually on my lips. |
| When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. | And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. | This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. | Do not let this book of the law be absent from your mouth; meditate upon it day and night, so that you might carefully observe everything that is written in it. Then you will prosper and be successful. |
| And you shall be holy to Me, for I the Lord am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be Mine. | You shall be holy, for I, the Lord, am holy. I have chosen you from among all people that you shall be mine. |
| What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! | What then? Should we sin because we are not under the Law but under grace? Of course not! |
| But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves. | But for you who fear my name the sun of justice will arise with its healing rays. You will emerge leaping like calves released from the stall. |
| Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work on it; it is the Sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings. | For six days work can be done, but the seventh is a Sabbath of rest, a holy assembly. You will do no work on it; it is a Sabbath of the Lord in all of your dwellings. |
| And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these. | The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these. |
