Should (3/4)

  • In like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works.
  • For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
  • What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!
  • Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.
  • He answered and said to them, “He who has two tunics, let him give to him who has none; and he who has food, let him do likewise.”
  • What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
  • Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation, but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away.
  • If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
  • Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.
  • Can a woman forget her nursing child,
And not have compassion on the son of her womb?
    Surely they may forget,
Yet I will not forget you.
    See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
Your walls are continually before Me.
  • So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
  • I will praise You with uprightness of heart,
When I learn Your righteous judgments.
  • Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.
  • If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
  • And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.
  • Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”
Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”
  • Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous.
  • So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
  • In this manner, therefore, pray:
    Our Father in heaven,
    Hallowed be Your name.
    Your kingdom come.
    Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
  • If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
  • Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.
  • And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
  • And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
  • Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
  • For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.
