- In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and barren, and darkness covered the abyss while the Spirit of God hovered over the waters.

teach me your paths. - Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them. They will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.
- Is anyone among you sick? He should send for the presbyters of the Church so that they may pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.

and hand over my body to be burned,
but do not have love,
I achieve nothing. - A highway will be there
that will be called the Way of Holiness.
No one who is unclean may pass over it;
it will serve as a path for pilgrims
and no fool will be able to use it. - If the Lord does not build the house,
those who construct it labor in vain.
If the Lord does not guard the city,
those who keep watch over it do so in vain. - Keep falsehood and lying far from me;
give me neither poverty nor riches,
but simply provide me with the food that I need. - Like a city that has been breached and made defenseless
is the man devoid of self-control. - He builds his upper chambers in the heavens
and establishes his vault of the sky over the earth—
the Lord is his name. - Yours, O Lord, are greatness,
power, glory, strength, and majesty,
for everything in heaven and on earth is yours.
Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all. - I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
he set me free from all my fears. - Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a resolute spirit within me. - He will not permit your foot to stumble;
he who guards you will not fall asleep. - Just as the living Father sent me
and I have life because of the Father,
so whoever feeds upon me will live because of me.
