- Put away from thee a froward mouth,
and perverse lips put far from thee. - Excellent speech becometh not a fool:
much less do lying lips a prince. - The tongue of the just is as choice silver:
the heart of the wicked is little worth. - Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
- But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine.
- By the word of the Lord were the heavens made;
and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. - But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
- He that hideth hatred with lying lips,
and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool. - If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath,
from doing thy pleasure on my holy day;
and call the sabbath a delight,
the holy of the Lord, honourable;
and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways,
nor finding thine own pleasure,
nor speaking thine own words:
Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord;
and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth,
and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father:
for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. - For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
- Blessings are upon the head of the just:
but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. - Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips;
I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. - I will bless the Lord at all times:
his praise shall continually be in my mouth. - But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
- In my distress I called upon the Lord,
and cried unto my God:
he heard my voice out of his temple,
and my cry came before him, even into his ears. - For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
- And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
- When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
- And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
- If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
- Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
- And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
- But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
- Lying lips are abomination to the Lord:
but they that deal truly are his delight. - And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?Lord, all my desire is before thee;
and my groaning is not hid from thee. Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.Next verse!With image
