Speaking (3/4)

As long as I remained silent, my body wasted away as the result of my groaning throughout the day. When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.
Fine words are not becoming to a fool, and much less are false words to a noble.Excellent speech isn’t fitting for a fool, much less do lying lips fit a prince.
Take no part in the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather seek to expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of what deeds people do in secret.Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
A word is not even on my tongue and you, O Lord, are completely aware of it.For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether.
Jesus answered them, “Amen, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to this fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be accomplished.”Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you told this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it would be done.”
As for you, teach what is consistent with sound doctrine. But say the things which fit sound doctrine.
The tongue of the just man is like pure silver; the heart of the wicked is without worth. The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver. The heart of the wicked is of little worth.
For one believes in the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved. For with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation.
Blessings are showered on the head of the righteous, but sorrow will cover the face of the wicked.Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
Above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth, or use any oaths at all. Let your “Yes” mean “Yes” and your “No” mean “No.” Otherwise you may be condemned. But above all things, my brothers, don’t swear— not by heaven, or by the earth, or by any other oath; but let your “yes” be “yes”, and your “no”, “no”, so that you don’t fall into hypocrisy.
In my anguish I cried out to the Lord and called to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.In my distress I called on Yahweh, and cried to my God. He heard my voice out of his temple. My cry before him came into his ears.
I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise will be continually on my lips.I will bless Yahweh at all times. His praise will always be in my mouth.
No prophecy ever came from human initiative. Rather, when people spoke as messengers of God, they did so under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
I have not strayed from the commandments of his lips; I have treasured in my heart the words of his mouth.I haven’t gone back from the commandment of his lips. I have treasured up the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
All you need to do is to say ‘Yes’ if you mean ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ if you mean ‘No.’ Anything beyond this comes from the evil one.But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’ be ‘No.’ Whatever is more than these is of the evil one.
Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which separated and came to rest on each one of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit enabled them to do so.Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.
God said, “Let there be light!” And there was light.God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
You might say to yourself, “How can we know that the Lord did not speak the message?” If what the prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord is not true and it does not happen, then the message was not proclaimed by the Lord. The prophet has spoken presumptuously, you should not fear him.You may say in your heart, “How shall we know the word which Yahweh has not spoken?” When a prophet speaks in Yahweh’s name, if the thing doesn’t follow, nor happen, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You shall not be afraid of him.
If you refrain from traveling on the Sabbath and from engaging in your own interests on my holy day, if you call the Sabbath a day of joy and regard the Lord’s holy day as honorable, if you honor it by not going your own way, serving your own interests, or attending to your own affairs; then you will find true happiness in the Lord, and I will enable you to ride upon the heights of the earth. I will nourish you with the heritage of your father Jacob, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.“If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight, and the holy of Yahweh honorable, and honor it, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words, then you will delight yourself in Yahweh, and I will make you to ride on the high places of the earth, and I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father;” for Yahweh’s mouth has spoken it.
I do not say this because I have been in need, for I have learned to be content with whatever I have. Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it.
If your brother should sin, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. Even if he wrongs you seven times a day, and comes back to you seven times to say, ‘I am sorry,’ you must forgive him.If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times returns, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.
Jesus looked at them and said, “For men this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.”Looking at them, Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
The Lord abhors lying lips, but he delights in those who are truthful.Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight.
Jesus looked at them and said, “For men it is impossible, but not for God. For God all things are possible.”Jesus, looking at them, said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God.”
I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’

And you will say on that day: Give thanks to the Lord, invoke his name; make known his deeds among the nations; proclaim that his name is exalted. In that day you will say, “Give thanks to Yahweh! Call on his name! Declare his doings among the peoples! Proclaim that his name is exalted!”
