- Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
- Neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
- Now I beg you, brothers, look out for those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and turn away from them.
- But as for me, I will look to Yahweh.
I will wait for the God of my salvation.
My God will hear me. - Yahweh, you have searched me,

You know my sitting down and my rising up.
You perceive my thoughts from afar. - Continue steadfastly in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving.
- My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God? - Make the path of your feet level.
Let all of your ways be established. - He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress.
I will not be shaken. - You shall keep my Sabbaths, and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am Yahweh.
- Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted.
- He alone is my rock, my salvation, and my fortress.
I will never be greatly shaken. - Keep your heart with all diligence,
for out of it is the wellspring of life. - But the end of all things is near. Therefore be of sound mind, self-controlled, and sober in prayer.
- Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
- That he may guard the paths of justice,
and preserve the way of his saints. - All of your words are truth.
Every one of your righteous ordinances endures forever. - Yahweh’s eyes are toward the righteous.
His ears listen to their cry. - I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go.
I will counsel you with my eye on you. - Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.
- Don’t withhold your tender mercies from me, Yahweh.
Let your loving kindness and your truth continually preserve me. - No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
- Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
- Can anyone forbid these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just like us.
