in the morning I plead my case to you, and watch. - The grass withers, the flower fades;
but the word of our God will stand forever. - Stay awake and pray that you may not come into the time of trial; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Stand at the crossroads, and look,
and ask for the ancient paths,
where the good way lies; and walk in it,

those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord guards the city,
the guard keeps watch in vain. - Now I would remind you, brothers and sisters, of the good news that I proclaimed to you, which you in turn received, in which also you stand, through which also you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message that I proclaimed to you—unless you have come to believe in vain.

but it is the purpose of the Lord that will be established. - Happy are those
who do not follow the advice of the wicked,
or take the path that sinners tread,
or sit in the seat of scoffers. - Stand therefore, and fasten the belt of truth around your waist, and put on the breastplate of righteousness.
