Study the scriptures (2/4)

Do not love the world or the things in the world. The love of the Father is not in those who love the world.Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is clear, enlightening the eyes. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The Lord watches over the strangers; he upholds the orphan and the widow, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. The Lord preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.
In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
The hope of the righteous ends in gladness, but the expectation of the wicked comes to nothing. The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Wives, be subject to your husbands as you are to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife just as Christ is the head of the church, the body of which he is the Savior.Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and all their host by the breath of his mouth.By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; the mind of the wicked is of little worth. The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
No one who denies the Son has the Father; everyone who confesses the Son has the Father also.Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked what is perverse. The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.

The vine withers, the fig tree droops. Pomegranate, palm, and apple— all the trees of the field are dried up; surely, joy withers away among the people. The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.
I came from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and am going to the Father.I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
Who builds his upper chambers in the heavens, and founds his vault upon the earth; who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the surface of the earth— the Lord is his name.It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The Lord is his name.
Better is a little that the righteous person has than the abundance of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous.A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous.

But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died through the one man's trespass, much more surely have the grace of God and the free gift in the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded for the many. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
