He saw and believed. (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)

What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.”Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
Then I saw that all toil and all skill in work come from a man's envy of his neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.And I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person’s envy of another. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.’
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last.Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
If you walk in my statutes and observe my commandments and do them, then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.
So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.
My son, if your heart is wise, my heart too will be glad.My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad indeed.
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's.If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”

Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father.As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father.
