What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? | What then if you were to behold the Son of Man ascend to where he was before? |
Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path. | Then you will understand equity and justice as well as righteousness—every good path. |
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! | What then? Should we sin because we are not under the Law but under grace? Of course not! |
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? | What then can we say in response to all this? If God is for us, who can be against us? |
I have made a covenant with my eyes; Why then should I look upon a young woman? | I have made a covenant with my eyes not to look with desire upon a virgin. |
Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. | When you call out to me and come forth and pray to me, I will listen to you. |
Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away. | Then, after completing their fasting and prayer, they laid their hands on them and sent them off. |
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” | I then heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me!” |
Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. | God said, “Let there be light!” And there was light. |
I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain. | I do not set aside the grace of God, for if justification comes through the Law, then Christ died for nothing. |
So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. | Those who live according to the flesh can never be pleasing to God. |
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. | Do not let this book of the law be absent from your mouth; meditate upon it day and night, so that you might carefully observe everything that is written in it. Then you will prosper and be successful. |
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. | And the good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the entire world as a testimony offered to all the nations. And then the end will come. |
So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. | Then, after he had spoken to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven, and there he took his place at the right hand of God. |
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. | So then, faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ. |

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. | For this reason, I rejoice when I endure weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and distress for the sake of Christ. For it is when I am weak that I am strong. |
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. | Therefore, take care to live as intelligent people, and do not be like those who are senseless. Make the most of the present time, for this is a wicked age. |

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him! | If you, then, despite your evil nature, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! |
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. | However, the wisdom that comes from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, and considerate, full of mercy and good fruits, without any trace of partiality or hypocrisy. |
Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment. | Therefore, the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from their trials and to hold the wicked for punishment until the Day of Judgment. |
